I a roundabout way it is to do with new Football ground being built for our wonderfull Football team the one and only FGR. Basicly it is to replace the land that the School will loss when the new ground is bulit in Forest Green.

I was wondering about this! I went for a look this afternoon and that ground is very very soft! Just standing there I was sinking. It's like quicksand!

I guess the 'W' will be lined with fans not wanting to pay for a ticket as they will get a grandstand view from there!

Incidently, I don't suppose that they would allow housing on that site as its landfill.

Thanks FGR-Fan - so will it be a full blown stadium with grandstands, parking and training centre.?

Will there be some public amenities built into the project (gym, function rooms etc.).?

..and Barking - it was from the W that I have noticed it springing up (or sinking if you like), as you say you get a pretty good view over the whole area from up there.

CC.

After a visit to the quick sands - er new stadium I have a couple of photographs. For those that don't know this location it's along the Avening road more or less opposite the garden centre.

If anyone has lost three horses they were roaming the woods when I took these images!

The above image is looking towards the 'W'

This shot was taken looking towards Avening. I guess I should take one from the 'W' as thats the best view.

No it is NOT going to be our new ground. It is going to be a playing field I believe to add on to KG5

Like I said it is very complicated planing thingy stuff but it is roughy to do with if one bit of recreation land is taken up it has to be replaced with something somewere else. It is all in the SNJ and NN anyway

Our new ground hopefully will be built in Forest Green very soon

KG5 is pretty big to start with so its gonna be huge with sum of (all?) that extra lot!

Never read NN. We seem to be off the delivery list and I never see it anywhere else. Actually, does anyone on Springhill get a copy delivered?

Do any get delivered to houses on Springhill? Going to the top of the hill is not something that I would normally do!

I have nothing against walking into town! Only I only go to the supermarkets. And the takeways! I have seen the NN on rare occasion in Somerfields but not often.
