NR 11.26. If you are so concerned about being priced out of the market, why don't you get a good paying job which will allow you to stay. Nobody is deliberately pushing anybody out, it is market forces which dictate.

And of course, in the natural order of things, mankinds place is to service the needs of the forces of the market. Self-evidently.

On the sixth day the Lord create the market and saw that it was good

I have only lived in Nailsworth for two years and do not even come from Gloucestershirew but I can see absolutely no earthly reason for pulling down a potentially nice old building and putting up yet another block of modern flats for the elderly. What is happening in Nailsworth, it is soon going to be a town for the rich elderly and no one else.

It is not a question of mankind having the duty to service market forces. Mankind creates market forces, that has been the order of things since man initiated a trading. You might despise wealth but wealth making is not exclusive to the very and exclusive few as you seem to believe. Everybody has the opportunity, if they wish to take, it upon themselves to make wealth for themselves. And I can quote many examples if recently self made wealthy people who where not born with the so called silver spoon in their mouth and I say good on them they deserve the fruits of their efforts. But maybe you despise that as well, preferring the softer option of dependency on the state in pursuit of your social utopia.

Now NR, that was a low blow from CNR and I can see you might need a bit of help, so here's a link (I was going to put up the wikipedia entry but I thought you might perceive me as taking the piss)

http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/

If you read, mark and inwardly digest the information available in this link you may find yourself able to play along with the big boys. If you don't however, expect to be called every time on the howlers you post on here

CNR there is no fence either way to get off from. What I have said is a fact of life. Market prevails on the basis of availability , demand and purchasing power and that is was rules a healthy economy within a free society at the end of the day. Much of the good, the market has to offer us, is due to 18 years of Tory leadership, which was capitalised upon by the present incumbents in government . His holiness Tony, publicly admitted he admired Maggie T a few years ago in case you forgot. And, like it or not, the incumbent government, have based their economic strategy on the foundations laid down by that great lady. Having said this they didn't do it wisely, in my opinion. But that is another subject altogether.

the incumbent government, have based their economic strategy on the foundations laid down by that great lady.

Exactly which economic strategy?

Do you remember the first couple of years of the Thatcher government? 1979-1982? Monetarism in its most demential form : high interest rates to defend sterling, resulting in companies going bust and laying off hundreds of thousands of workers ( don't worry, we'll call it Natural Wastage as these workers are a waste to society). Happy days.

Conveniently for this "great" leader, a tinpot dictator decided to invade the Falklands just when her popularity was at a record low and she was getting jostled in public. She got the prestige for winning the war and her popularity took off, along with a discreet change in Defence Minister, John Nott, and economic policy to make it more palatable. Of course the job centres were crammed full by then.

And talking anbout the Falklands, I lay full responsibility on the "great" lady for having lost them in the first place. But thet's another story.

Not Required,

You posted two contradictory statements. I pointed them out.

No number of long winded, semi-literate, factually incorrect, opinion filled posts from you can change that.
