Okay Scottish flag flying at the bottom of the W with the word YES! Am I on my own in thinking that it's a little odd that someone who chooses not to live in Scotland is voting for an independent Scotland? It's like William Wallace winning, crying freedom, then buying a semi detached in one of the most English places in England!

Hi

Scots living in England don't have a vote in it, and English people living in Scotland do.

The op is not only narrow minded but by using that name seems to be a casual racist.

I’m part Scottish, but have only been to Scotland a handful of times. I consider myself to be English, and British.

I like Alex Salmon, I think he is a witty and likable Politian. But I am annoyed that he said the result is a good basis for future Scottish independence. The referendum is finish, the majority of Scots chose to remain in the union, that should be an end to it. For him to say anything different and imply that there will be future referendums is totally unacceptable. This does not only affect Scotland, but also the rest of the United Kingdom. To have the threat of another referendum looming in unsettling. This is our country and we love it and are glad that Scotland has democratically decided to remain a part of it. That should be an end to any talk for future referendums. We English give a poor deal, have we ever had the chance to vote for independence? The Welsh and the Scots have. We don’t have our own national assembly and Scots and Welsh MPs vote on matters that affect us. Anyway, I’m happy that we are still a union and that’s the way that it should stay.

Wee 'eck, is not a likeable politician, he's a lying, weaselly operator, like most of 'em.

This referendum will NOT be the final word on Scottish Independence, it will more likely be a turning point in British politics.

Cameron and co. will be dead meat after this result.

Oh do grow up you narrow-minded, politically correct, right-on, tree-hugger. get a life....people with gormless attitudes like you allowed the abuse to continue in Rotherham because you would be so upset to hurt anyone's ethnic feelings....never mind the feelings of the children though.

I'm the original poster and I based the name on Jock Stein (a manager I greatly admired) and taggart (a programme I loved as a teenager). I stand by my point about the flag but to be accused of a casual racist is equally as bizarre and confusing to me. Ironically, I'm Scottish and I would feel hypocritical calling for independence while living here in Nailsworth. But I do expect this cynicism and negativity from this website to call a Scotsman a casual racist towards my own people. Really. Only on this negative forum could this be. Well done to that troll, you deserve all you reap in life! What an amazing judge you are! I won't post again. Depressing. I was genuinely looking for constructive debate not this bile.

I think people who accuse others of racism, are quite often protesting too much.
