I was wondering if anybody knows any info on this year’s KG5 Fathers day fete?

As I hope it is better than last years fiasco, That was widely regarded as the worst ever .

I think this town has a slight advertising problem with this thing! I didn't even know it was on last year - there were no signs anywhere!

The better one, well more interesting in my opinion was a few years ago when we were going to have loads of air balloons taking off. The weather put paid to most of them but it was a good idea and half a dozen or so balloons turned up. Maybe they could try and get that going again or even a 'kite' flying event that may be a little more interesting than the normal 'stock' events. You only want to watch 'line dancing' a certain number of times if at all!!

I see that Snow Business have a balloon. It was taking off from the common on Sunday evening. Maybe they could be asked to offer basket rides?

That's if the event is happening this year!

Sooo, any ideas for making it a better event anyone?

Many thanks for the info Debbie. I do appreciate the hard work that goes on to arrange such a big event.

I think that most people’s feelings were the absent Beer tent and the lack activities in the main arena. And the fact there were to many expensive “fair ground ” attractions around the edge.

I believe our SC are going to do something this year and I hope Chris is not let down with the 5 a side this year as I know he was last year.

But you Hog roast is always worth turning up for

Maybe get you could ask Mr "Nailsworth News" Rich Kerry next time you are at the ground to see if he can help with the 5 a side ? Or even our Mr Colin Peake might offer a few ideas ?????

I personally found the hog roast quite offensive when I saw it a few years ago. Seeing a pigs head with it's body all chopped up in the tray is not something that I really want to see again!
