Indeed Steed, That was with papers on my back too!! Mind you I was like a racing snake in those days.More meat on the proverbial. Interesting point you made about the footpath,my brother and I,had a Nailsworth and district pub crawl when I was down,a few years back. From the jovials,we then took in the Crown, along that road and nearly got minced by a Ford Anglia!!! A footpath , as you quite rightly stated would have saved the poor riggers already wobbly legs!

There is a public footpath that runs from along at the end of Windsoredge down to The Crystal Fountain Village called 'The Dulkin'. It would probably be a bit tricky crawling back up the hill though several pints later!

I find it interesting that Nelly.com has actively started supporting The Crown @ Inchbrook. Is this because the ex-Mayoress and husband has annoyed him? Or is it because he feels there is a need for another pub in the area? Could it be because he enjoys driving through the chicane at high speeds? The loss of the Crown would be a travesty! I'd like to see it re-open as a destination pub for food and live music, the residents of Dunkirk Mills and Crystal Fountain deserve a good pub. But I suppose the Town Council will be against it as always, scrtch my back, I'll pay you a few thousand...........

Stop talking and get your objections to the demolition in on the SDC Planning website. Don't leave it until it's too late and this historic coaching inn is just a pile of rubble, or worse, a characterless block of flats for the elderly rich!

Faceless NR, what is your agenda? Do you have a vested interest in Crystal Fountain Village or the block of flats which it is proposed will replace the Crown?

Why must very objection by some like CC 11.28, have to refer to the rich or in the case of this thread the elderly rich. Don't like people who have a bit more than you? Wealth brings prosperity to the local economy but I suspect the objections are more than likely based on envy.

Quite right my fellow NR. I think we can all clearly see the underpinnings of CC's objection .
